Mini Challenges
The BOS Athlete and challenged team members agree on which Mini Challenge to use. Select the chosen Mini Challenge before entering the challenge results.
For BOS Athlete Challenges, players may choose any MINI 1 through MINI 4 challenge.
Alternate Events
Indoor and weather-backup games that can replace outdoor events if conditions change.
If weather or space prevents an outdoor event, the host may replace an official event with one of these alternate games. Unless otherwise announced, alternate events use the same placement scoring system: 1st = 6, 2nd = 4, 3rd = 2, 4th = 1, 5th/6th = 0.
Stack Attack – Cup Stack Relay
Bracket Competition / Team Relay
Each team races to build and collapse a 10-cup pyramid. Player 1 completes the stack and collapse, then Player 2 repeats. First team to complete the relay wins the round. First team to win 3 rounds wins the match.
Giant Jenga / Tipsey Tower
Bracket Competition / Team Strategy Challenge
Teams alternate pulling blocks until the tower falls. Players must use one hand and carefully follow the block-touch rules. Violations trigger Basic Drinking Penalty cards. The team that knocks the tower over loses.
Die 31
Bracket Competition / Dice Challenge
Each team starts with a score of 31 and rolls to establish a trigger number. Players roll 6 dice each turn. Every time their trigger appears, they subtract 1 from their score. First team to reach 0 wins.
Around the Horn Ring Toss
Timed Team Accuracy Challenge
Each player gets 30 seconds to throw 4 rings from each of 4 stations. Rings score based on size. The best combined score from both team players wins.
Weather Backup Rule
If weather prevents outdoor play, the host may replace any official event with one of the Alternate Events. Replacement events keep the same placement scoring unless the host announces a different format.
Drinking Penalty Rules
Standard penalty definitions used across all 804 Misfits events.
Some events, alternate games, command blocks, violations, and gauntlet challenges use drinking penalties. No player is ever required or forced to drink alcohol. Unless a specific event rule says otherwise, the following penalty definitions apply across the full event.
Basic Drinking Penalty
A Basic Drinking Penalty gives the player a choice:
- 4 oz of beer, OR
- 1 shot of liquor, OR
- one approved Physical Alternate Penalty
The player always chooses which option they complete.
No player is ever required or forced to drink alcohol.
If a player receives a Basic Drinking Penalty, they must complete one of the approved penalty options at the time required by the event rule.
Examples
- before next turn
- immediately after a violation
- before continuing the challenge
- after the round ends, if directed by the host
- before a team can continue in a relay or gauntlet challenge
Any player may choose a Physical Alternate Penalty instead of drinking alcohol.
Physical Alt Penalty 1 — 5 Burpees

Physical Alt Penalty 2 — Dizzy Bat + Pushups
The player completes:
- 5 Dizzy Bat rotations
- immediately followed by 5 pushups
The player must complete all 5 rotations and all 5 pushups for the penalty to count.
Beer Stick Penalty
A Beer Stick Penalty gives the player a choice:
- 6 oz of beer using the Beer Stick / Bierstick, OR
- one approved Physical Alternate Penalty
The player always chooses which option they complete.
No player is ever required or forced to drink alcohol.
If a Beer Stick / Bierstick is not available
The host may substitute:
- 6 oz of beer from a regular cup
The Beer Stick Penalty should be used for larger penalties, special challenge blocks, major violations, or host-designated penalty moments.
